The Burnt Store-PPYC Charitable Boating Foundation is the publisher of Where Do We Live? Research by a Seasonal Resident of Burnt Store Road. All rights to the book have been granted to the Foundation by the author. The Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization . The Foundation was established by a group of civic minded residents of the Burnt Store Road area and is currently governed by an eight person Board of Directors (full disclosure – the author is a Director of this Foundation). The mission of the organization is to provide educational and outreach opportunities related to boating and marine topics for the Burnt Store Road area. Examples of sponsored activities are cruises with members and staff of a local Boys & Girls Club, Make It Count Sports youth program and participation with PPYC and the Florida Commodores Association in the Wounded American Veterans (WAVE) day on the water program.
A Tax Letter will be sent to individuals or organizations who donate $50 or more.
A very favorable article about one of the organization’s 2016 events, written by Rusty Pray, appeared on the front page of the Tuesday, February 23, 2016 Charlotte Sun complete with photos of the happy children. Twenty kids aged 8-15 from the Punta Gorda nonprofit organization Make It Count Sports enjoyed a day on the water with their chaperons and members of Platinum Point Yacht Club who volunteered their time and boats for the event.
