The PDF format has been used to create the eBook. It has not been converted to the ePub or MOBI formats given the highly detailed nature of many of the maps and images.
This book can be easily read on a Windows computer using an Acrobat Reader program. To scroll smoothly through the pages place the cursor in the margin rather than in the text area.
If using an iPad, I recommend importing the PDF document into iBooks or an Adobe Acrobat app. I have found the Adobe Acrobat App to be the most functional method of viewing the book.
