My pre-retirement career was as a CPA (chartered accountant in Canada) but I have always had a fascination with history. I mention this only as part of a confession that I often look at history through a commercial lens. I ask myself why a group of people migrated to a particular area, and once there, what kind of work did they do?
This chapter provides an overview of the industries which brought people to the Burnt Store area and sustained them once there.
